Welcome to our U10 A hockey tryouts! I am delighted to have your child(ren) join us on the ice for an exciting hockey experience. Here’s what you need to know about our tryout process:
1. Three Non-Consecutive Tryout Sessions: Each child will have a guaranteed three
opportunities to showcase their skills. Please know that with the complexities of the tryouts
this season, your child will be given three tryouts, however, they may not fall on consecutive
days. Please know that everyone will attend the first 2 tryouts (April 29, and 30). After the first 2
days of tryouts, it is important more than ever this year, that you are reviewing the webpage to
see if your child will be participating in the next scheduled tryout date. Again, I can appreciate
this is a stressful time for both parents and children, but please be patient due to the challenges
faced this year. Releases will be posted to the website so please ensure you have the proper number for your child.
*When arriving at the arena, please check in at the table in the lobby to receive a coloured pinny for your child.
2. Independent Evaluators: I have expert evaluators who will be supporting me both on and off
the ice. Being the head coach, I will be evaluating off ice for a better perspective of the players
skills and performance.
3. Comprehensive Assessment: We’re evaluating all aspects of their game, from technical skills to their dedication and attitude.
4. No Guaranteed Spots: It is essential to understand that there are no guaranteed spots on the team. Selection will be based on merit, focusing skills, attitude, and commitment to the sport.
My primary aim is for your child(ren) to enjoy the tryouts and learn and grow as hockey players. I am looking forward to seeing your child(ren) on the ice for some great hockey!
